The e-skin displays a patient’s electrocardiogram – a waveform representing the electrical activity of the heart – based on data collected by an ultra-thin, flexible sensor. The display stretches to 45 per cent of its original length allowing it to conform to the contours and movements of the body.
The device’s creators (Takao Someya Research Group) are based at the University of Tokyo Japan.
