LONDON: Europe is seeing the coldest start of March in all its history. The United Kingdom has been put on flood and ice alert. Icy roads will continue to make driving difficult across many parts of UK. The cold weather has left herds of people stranded on roads and cars and subways.
Met office predicts that the snow may cease and might even be replaced by rain but strong winds and fluctuating temperatures are likely to continue. Drivers have been warned of traitorous conditions across the UK as rain is expected to fall on icy roads.
Power outages have been reported all over the UK as weather warnings for ice and snow continue to increase. Fifteen flood warnings have been issued and 36 flood alerts have been issued for coastal areas of England.
